Story

Thank you for visiting the Yak Street Boys' fundraising page.

On 19/07/2009, The Yak Street Boys (4 mates and a car from Sheffield) will be attempting to travel a third of the way around the earth, from London to Mongolia via a plethora of countries most people haven't heard of. This will all be attempted in a totally unsuitable Daihatsu Hi Jet 1.3 which will then be auctioned for charity once we reach our destination.

What happens to us between the start, the deserts, mountains, bandits and wilderness is anyone's guess. In a normal year just over half the teams make the finish line in one piece.

The rally finishes in the Mongolian capital of Ulaan Baatar around 40 days and a whole heap of adventure later. It's about 10,000 miles, with us having chosen to point our trusty steed in the general direction of Europe, Iran, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan (via the infamously dangerous and high altitude "Pamir Highway", through Kyrgystan and Kazakhstan, onto Russia and eventually into Mongolia.

It is our intention, with your help, to raise lots of money for our chosen charity "Christina Noble Chidren's Foundation"
