Story

Jane, Rebecca and Georgina have set up this page on behalf of our beloved father and grandfather, Tom Richards, who recently passed away on Thursday 9th July 2020.

We would like to dedicate this page, and any donations kindly received, to the caring, gentle and dedicated men and women who volunteered their time for Age UK Richmond-upon-Thames, and in particular those at the Whitton Social Centre. Tom, alongside his wife Joan of course, was one of the regular faces at the Whitton Social Centre and had been for many years. It was truly one of his 'happy places', and he knew how lucky he was to have made genuine, wonderful friends for life as a result of visiting for so many years. He will be missed greatly by all at Age UK, but most definitely not forgotten.

For many elderly people, Age UK offers a lifeline - a place full of warmth, laughter, stimulation and smiling faces. The volunteers go above and beyond to make both regular and occasional visitors feel part of a small but tightly knit community. For many, the world would quite simply be a more lonely place without Age UK.
