Story

Thanks for visiting, we are the

HSBC Management Trainee April 2008 Intake's 3 Peaks Challenger.

We all have to participate in a variety of projects and activities that benefit our community and immediately the 3 Peaks Challenge stood out as one that so many of us wanted to do. Most of us have probably never walked further than from the pub to home so it promises to be an amazing challenge for us all. We're still likely trying to get our heads around the equipment list to overcome the surprise that we can't go up in our shorts and enjoy a leisurely picnic en route! Rest assured though, by sponsoring us you will be backing a team that will have the utmost fun, and importantly endeavour to succeed sub-24 hours. So please please be as generous as you can to help us raise some very important money for VSO.

The team is listed above, and we're sure that you like at least one of us, so we appeal to your generous nature and look forward to thanking you all for your kindness. Oh, and sparing a thought for us come the weekend!

The 3 Peaks Challenge is quite simple (!):-

3 mountains, 3 countries, one weekend. Well 24 hours in fact. Ben Nevis, Scafell Pike and Snowdon.

A total climb of 3,407 metres with 23 miles to walk and over 400 miles worth of driving!!

That's where the simplicity ends. We will register and brief at the base of Ben Nevis Saturday afternoon of the 12th September, and scale our first mountain at 16:40. From here its a race against the clock to work together to reach the summit, before tumbling down! Rachael and Sam will drive us to a checkpoint before onto Scafell Pike for daybreak on the Sunday morning. Rach and Sam will be so much more than drivers, they are our support and will help to keep us feeling as fresh as possible and motivated. Fed and watered.  We climb Scafell and repeat the process onto Snowdon where we will hopefully finish late Sunday afternoon. That simple!! We must overcome mental and physical tiredness, the unforgiving British weather, the terrain, especially of Scafell and every step needed to reach the finish.

VSO is a great charity and can, with your donations to support us, endeavour to do so much good through the 3rd World.

Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Voluntary Service Overseas gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.

So please sponsor us now!
