Story
Hello there and thanks very much for stopping by Tim and Alison's justgiving fundraising page!
Just to put this into some perspective - I am a man who couldn't run.. Well I could, but never found it easy so I didn't. Then in September last year I met Alison (who is a great runner) and she convinced me that I should run too.. Then Ali decided we needed a bit of a challenge.. I said 'okay' and by that time it was way too late for me to back out!!
So... After a couple of short(ish) charity runs in June and July earlier this year we are currently pounding the streets and the treadmill in training for the BUPA Great North Run in Newcastle on Sunday October 5th 2008!!! It's the world's biggest half marathon and the biggest mass participation event in Britain. Each year tens of thousands of people tackle the famous 13.1 miles from Newcastle to the coast at South Shields and this year we are joining them to raise money for Whizz-Kidz
Whizz-Kidz is a brilliant charity that is all about giving disabled children the chance to lead a more independent life. Through meeting their individual mobility needs and ensuring they get the right mobility equipment, advice and training at the right time
Whizz-Kidz are virtually 100% reliant on voluntary funds raised through events, trusts, companies and individuals. They need your support to raise more money so that more young people can lead an active childhood
Donating through justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor us
Whizz-Kidz gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation
Whizz-Kidz is a very worthy charity and running 13.1 miles is going to hurt me a lot so please sponsor us now and make my pain worthwhile!!
Thanks very much and keep well
Tim and Ali
