Hi Everyone

Well, you've all been  absolutely fantastic and I can't tell you how much I appreciate how kind you've all been in helping me help out Pets As Therapy, my bro's (and now my) favourite charity.

Usain Bolt was clearly rattled when he knew I was there yesterday so as Phil would have suggested, I (we!) pulled back on the throttle and eased in with the now official time of 66 minutes, 52 seconds (sounds a bit better than 1 hour 6 mins etc doesn't it?).

Phil was on my shoulder all the way and would have loved the quick burst of 'You'll Never Walk Alone" as we passed Old Trafford. This was more aptly changed to 'You'll Never Walk Again' by some of our title winning Mancunian colleagues who then helped me home so proving there are great lads everywhere - well done on number 18!

Eileen Slattery plus all the folks and dogs (Hi Cosmo) at PAT were brilliant too and braved the rain to see me crawl home as did Shaun and Gwen Mawson. Thanks also to Denise Wilson for providing the top shirt with Phil's picture on that I got to run in - an honour.

Thanks to your help, I've raised £2,975.01 online for Pets As Therapy so far which is unbelievable and beyond what I thought I might manage so this will go a long way to helping the PAT crew out. By the way, with gift aid, that climbs to nearly £3700 - good work, dosh up merchants!

So now it's back to my comfy chair and no running for quite a while..well, until the next one - Pete McDowell - get running,lad - you're with me next year...
