You may be thinking - 'will this guy just feck off and stop asking me for money' and I really wouldn't blame you!
But I am surprisingly entered in a fell race on the Isle Of Wight on the 20th September along with Rob, my brother and we thought we would try to raise a couple of quid in the process. The race is in memory of our grandad - see the photo - and is going to be called 'The Eddie Leal Memorial Race' or something like that.
So why this charity? Well, before our grandfther died, he was given some care by the Macmillan Cancer Support people. So I thought it was a good idea to help them out. Astoundingly, I was spotted recently with a cigarette sticking out of my mouth. How it got there I have no idea but I suppose it means that one day I may need the hard working people at Macmillan myself. Also, one in four people will get some kind of cancer during their lifetime. That's a 25% chance it will be you. Unlucky but true.
In the photo on the above left you will see a picture of the grandfather in question along with his dad, my dad and me laughing my head clean off. Apparently, someone had just told me that I would be running a fell race in 39 years time. I'm still laughing now.
The picture below of my brother and I was taken only last year. I think you'll agree that you can barely see the 38 and 39 years that have passed since the top photo.
