Story

Brighton is having marathon... a full one. Which is very convenient because I have a sudden urge to spend the dark winter evenings and freezing winter mornings running through the streets in Lycra shorts for hours upon end. Actually I can’t think of anything worse, which is why this page exists. I want to raise money for Guide Dogs, and raising money should be rewarding by doing something that doesn't come naturally to you. Running for 26 miles non stop, for up to (hopefully) 5 hours, couldn't come more unnaturally for me. For more information please go to the Brighton Marathon website. Within my training, I will be completing the Brighton Sussex Beacon Half Marathon in February and Reading Half Marathon in March - a total of 52 miles on top of the many miles training I will have to complete.

I don't think I need to justify how Guide Dogs deserve your money, but seeing how a highly trained dog can transform someone’s life is amazing. I would be honored to go through a bit of pain, blisters and screwed knees just to help someone lead an easier life.

Please give what you can, and help motivate me over the winter when I am sure I am going to question my sanity.

Donating through Just Giving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with Just Giving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity. It also means I don’t have to hunt everyone down afterwards and collect cash.

So please dig deep and donate now.

Got even more money spare... I messed up a little, in my over enthusiasm I have promised my blood sweat and tears to two charities. So true to my word I am fundraising for both. My other charity is Canine Partners.  Please go to http://www.justgiving.com/timmy-does-half-of-brighton.

Also my friend is running the brighton half and full marathon wearing a testicle suit, http://www.justgiving.com/mrtesticle

The ability to get around is vital in order to live a full life yet thousands of people with sight loss never leave home alone. We empower visually impaired people to do that and rely on the support of the public to fund the guide dog service.
