OK, so I have finally lost the plot!
The last time I rode a bike seriously was at school in Portsmouth. After 33 years I am rediscovering muscles (and aches) that I had forgotten existed.
"The aim of Pedal for Primus is to raise funds to help the charity change lives, while cyclists have the achievement of completing a genuine physical challenge. The money raised will help to extend Faith & Football's community and educational programmes. In the UK that includes inner-city football leagues, literacy schemes and a business enterprise challenge. Our overseas work supports orphans, Aids victims and disabled and poverty-stricken children in Africa, India and Mexico."
The ride starts on Friday 5th September at Charlton's ground, The Valley, where Linvoy began his career. The first 30 mile leg goes along the River Lea and then through Enfield Chase towards Underhill, the home of Barnet, his second club.
Saturday sees us head west into Buckinghamshire and Berkshire for a 65-mile cycle to Reading’s ground, the Madejski Stadium.
The final 65 mile leg on Sunday goes south from Reading, through north Hampshire to Petersfield, Havant and finally Fratton Park.
