Story
Out story......
Christmas Eve 2013 I headed off to Treliske hospital with my wife Dana, Christmas day we were transfered to plymouths Deriford hospital where at 0854 on the 29th December our ansome twin boys Lincoln & Cameron were born 100 days early, this marks the start of a very long emotional journey in various neonatal intensive care units, after three weeks Lincoln was transfered to Bristol intensive care unit as it's the regional surgical unit, here he had a life saving operation after having Necrotizing enterocolitis (NEC) NEC involves infection and inflammation that causes destruction of the bowel (intestine) or part of the bowel. Although it affects only 1 in 2,000 to 4,000 births if affected Lincoln in a big way as he now almost certainly has 'short gut'
Three weeks after Lincoln's arrival at Bristol his brother Cameron was transfered with suspected NEC, thankfuly medicine helped him to recover without the need for surgery,
Lincoln has also been to Birmingham children's hospital for another operation on his liver after suspected biliary atresia, although he had two emergency operations after further infections of NEC they confirmed it wasn't biliary atresia, he's now back at Bristol and will be for the foreseeable future,
a ruff ride for all concerned to say the least, thankfully since Lincoln was admitted to Bristol myself and Dana have been able to stay in the Cots for Tots house completely free of charge, without this amazing charity funded 'home from home' we would be miles from our boys rather than across the road, I can not begin to imagine how that would feel, now our boys are on their road to recovery it's time we done our bit, if every one who's offered to help or liked the twins blog ( Facebook.com/tippetttwins ) donates anything from £1 to whatever they see appropriate we will smash our target of £2000 in no time!
Soon enough we be back home with our boys buy until then Cots for Tots will be our home and we will do all we can to help support such a worthy charity
Thank You
Steve, Dana, Lincoln and Cameron
