We are Douglas Prasser and Christopher Layley and on Mid-Summers Day this year we intend to ride our BMW motorcycles 890 miles from Lands End to John O’Groats.  We do not want to break any records but aim to complete it in @ 16 hours, just to raise some much needed cash for the Essex Air Ambulance. Between us we have 27 years of combined service in the British Army and Essex Police.  We have first hand experience of how vitally important it is to get a casualty to treatment in the shortest time possible, and this is why we have chosen to support Essex Air Ambulance.

The Essex Air Ambulance is funded entirely by public donations and costs over £100,000 per month to run.  They fly on average four missions per day, seven days a week, can carry up to two casualties at a time and are never more than eight minutes from the nearest Accident and Emergency Hospital. 

BMW R1150GS and R1200 GS Adventure motorcycles were our natural choice for the ride thanks to their legendary reputation for being reliable, fuel economic and comfortable.

Our friends at Link Motorcycle Training in Chelmsford and Cannon BMW Motorad in Braintree have ensured our riding and our motorcycles are up to the trip, and have also generously offered to be our title sponsors.
