On the 24th July 2019 Toby William was born sleeping at 37 weeks. Tragically, his mother, Amy had pre-eclampsia and as a result she suffered numerous fits, had a huge internal bleed, placenta abruption, her internal organs started to shut down and she very nearly lost her life too. 

It is devastating that Toby didn't survive, however, due to the incredible actions of the medical staff in the Critical Care Unit and Maternity Services at Hinchingbrooke Hospital in Huntingdon, Amy was saved and is now making a good recovery at home.

Amy was in the Critical Care Unit for more than 24 hours where she and her husband Tim received exceptional around the clock care, she was then transferred to the "Meadow Suite" - a beautiful purpose built room in the hospital specifically designed for bereaved parents where Tim was also able to stay with her. The room has it's own kitchen, bathroom, and double bed so it feels more like home than a hospital room and is sensitively decorated and kitted out with helpful resources to assist with the most difficult of situations. 

The level of care and attention both Amy and Tim received during their hospital stay was and continues to be nothing short of phenomenal and has made a horrific time that little bit more bearable. At every point staff have been kind, caring, sensitive and have gone above and beyond their remit to help. 

Amy and Tim want Toby's legacy to help future local bereaved parent's therefore have decided to raise money to go directly to the services that supported them at Hinchingbrooke Hospital.

The money raised from this page will be donated equally across the Critical Care Department and The Meadow Suite and will act as a thank you to those who went above and beyond.
