Story

Hi Everyone

I made it! In one piece!

I left Derby at 6:50 after changing a tyre which had gone flat overnight (not a good start).

It was a nice day sunny with no wind, got pretty hot in the afternoon though. Managed to maintain a decent average speed of about 16mph but had to take more breaks later in the day as my legs were getting weaker.

Arrived at my parents house in Bookham at 20:50, 14 hours after leaving Derby and after having travelled 155 miles due to some wrong turns in Milton Keynes! Legs are still aching a bit now. I opted to drive back home, a lot easier!

Thanks to everyone who donated and to Jess for bringing me food in the afternoon!

Tom

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

On September 11th 2009 my one day cycle trip will begin in Derby, Derbshire and end in Great Bookham, Surrey, all 147miles of it. This will be on my lonesome.

I will be doing this for Sporting Futures. This is a charity who work with Partners to Reduce the risk of Crime and Antisocial Behaviour throughout Derbyshire communities by encouraging Targeted Young People to participate in Physical Recreation.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

So please dig deep and donate now.
