The ability to get around is vital in order to live a full life yet thousands of people with sight loss never leave home alone. We empower visually impaired people to do that and rely on the support of the public to fund the guide dog service.

Story

My name is Torie.  On the 29th September 2010, i qualified with my first guide dog Ushi.  Since having Ushi, i have been able to do so much from simply going to the shops, to travelling the country.  Nothing is too much now, whereas before, i wouldn't have traveled alone, although i was perffectly capable, but just didn't have the confffidence.

Last year i did the 8 mile walk of the Belfast Marathon.  This year, i'm pounding the streets of Belffast yet again, with Ushi by my side.  Just being able to go for a walk is fantastic and something that can be taken for granted.  Since last year, i have taken part in 36 parkruns, and Ushi has been there ffffor most of them.

Without guide dogs, this wouldn't have been possible.  So i would like to thank you in advance for anyything you can give, no matter how small.
