Story
Hi Everyone,
Thank you for visiting my fundraising page.
This will the third time I have run the London Marathon. I hope to complete it within 4 hours 30 mins (although the way my legs feel now from all the training I am not sure they would agree) .
Help For Heroes uses the money in various different ways. The Charity helps to support service men and women who have been wounded in the line of duty. The money really does "make a difference" from funding repairs and building a new rehab complex at Headley Court to maintaining relatives houses at Selly Oak Hospital so the families can be at the bedside of the one's they love.
My brother has been in the Army for 17 years and is just about to finish a tour of duty in Afghanistan. He has suffered no injuries. Unfortunately, others from his regiment have not been so lucky. I am running the London Marathon this year to help "give a little back" . You never know when a friend or a member of your family may need the help of Help For Heroes. I want to ensure there is money available for every single person who needs their help and support.
As Bryn Parry (Chief Exec and Co- Founded) stated
"Our young men and women of the Armed Forces will say that they are not heroes, they will tell you that they are just people doing their job. We think that anyone who volunteers to serve in time of war, knowing that they may risk all, is a hero. These are ordinary people doing extraordinary things and some of them are living with the consequences of their service for life.
We may not be able to prevent our service men and women from being wounded, but together we can help them get better."
Please help me to "make a difference" and raise as much money as possible for this worthy charity.
Thank you for your support
