Old Freemens go walking
On July 17th - 18th 2010, 4 intrepid, young men shall be walking 100km over The South Downs for 24 hours non-stop, all in aid of OXFAM and The Gurkhas Welfare Trust.
The Gurkha Welfare Trust is a registered charity which was established in 1969. It aims to relieve poverty and distress among Gurkha ex-servicemen of the British Crown and their dependants. This is achieved by raising funds for distribution in Nepal through the Trust's field arm, the Gurkha Welfare Scheme, and responding to welfare needs as they arise in the UK.The Trust supports around 10,000 welfare pensioners in Nepal. Most are in their 80s and are totally reliant on the Trust for a dignified comfortable old age.
Over the next few months we shall all be giving any spare time we have to ensure that we are fit enough to undertake such a mammoth task, and we are asking YOU to donate any amount of money you can for this very worthy cause, all the money received on this page or given in person shall be split equally between OXFAM and The Gurkhas Welfare Trust.
PLEASE BE GENEROUS AND DONATE NOW!
Cheers,
Alex, Si, Chris and Jonny
