In December 2002, I was diagnosed with breast cancer and had a mastectomy in January 2003.  In January this year, after 5 years of treatment, I was discharged by the hospital.

I have decided to take on Trek South Africa for 3 reasons:

- To celebrate being given the "all clear"

- To say a HUGE 'thank you' to all my friends and family who supported me and all the healthcare professionals who helped me

- To support Breast Cancer Care so that they can continue to help people like me
