On the 29th of July 2009, a team of four climbers from the RNAS Yeovilton Climbing Club will undertake a charity indoor climb to raise money for Help for Heroes (Registered Charity number 1120920).

We will be attempting to raise £10,000 and set a new World Record to help raise the charity profile.

The climb to be attempted will be 36,404ft, the combined height of of the highest mountains in Iraq (Cheekah Dar - 11,847ft) and in Afghanistan (Nowshak - 24,557ft) That's 7000ft higher than Mt Everest (a mere 29,000ft) All to be completed within 24 hours!

The climb will take place on a 25ft indoor wall at RNAS Yeovilton, Somerset, which will require each of the four climbers to attempt a massive 365 climbs each. Alternating in teams of two for 2 hours at a time, each climber will climb at a rate of 1 ascent every 90 seconds.  This will be followed by a two hour break to recover,shower, eat and sleep.
