My name is Pete Henderson.
I am pedalling over 5000 miles, across South America. This epic adventure will take me cycling over 15,000ft mountain passes in the Andes, through the largest salt flat, the driest desert on the planet, and the Patagonia wilderness.
I am raising money for ´Street Child World Cup´, an unbelievable charity, working globally, to give street children much needed protection, and to help build the opportunities that all children deserve.
It is estimated that 100 million children live and work on the streets of our world’s cities. These children are exposed to sexual and violent abuse, exploitation and trafficking, seldom receiving any protection from the police and judicial systems.
In March 2014, street children from 20 countries are venturing to Rio, to take part in the ´Street Child World Cup´ - A football tournament, which brings together a network of incredible projects, campaining for the rights of street children. Giving the children a voice, and a chance to take part in this festival of football!
Please donate anything you can, crack open that dusty, forgotten, piggy bank... search behind the sofa cushions... Every penny is a step forward. No child deserves to sleep on the street.
