We provide care in Coventry & Warwickshire to people with a terminal illness aged 18+

Story

As part of the Kenilworth Festival, the University of Warwick is taking part in a charity Sedan Chair Race to raise money for the Myton Hospice.

The University team of nine (eight carrying the chair, one sitting inside) must transport the specially decorated chair around a one mile course designed to test speed, agility and balance. In the spirit of graduation week, the chair will be wearing a mortar board!

Update (21/07/08) - Thanks to everyone who has sponsored us so far! You will be happy to know that we took first prize for best decorated chair (many thanks to Warwick Print!) and managed to avoid last place in the race, coming eighth out of nine teams! Remember - it's not too late to sponsor us to raise money for the Myton Hospice! They are currently fundraising for a new 20-bed hospice in Coventry. Please support the team and Myton Hospice by donating online.

Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Myton Hamlet Hospice Trust gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.
