BELATED UPDATE: Robby Completed the London To Brighton Cross Country Ultra (56 miles) in just under the 13-hour cut-off. Only half the entrants finished. Robby picked up a serious injury at about mile 18... Don't worry, he's better now and planning to run with Beanie in Hell Runners Down South in a few weeks time: So keep the money coming!

Thanks for visiting...
Our son Tommy was born with a serious heart condition called Transposition of the Great Arteries -TGA. He spent much of the first few weeks on this earth on a life support machine and underwent open-heart surgery at Great Ormond Street Hospital just 13 days old. Happily, in July he had his one-year check up which concluded with the words, 'His heart is working beautifully.'

As our way of saying thank you to GOSH, Vicki and I have been running a series of events throughout the year. We started in March with Vick's first ever race, the Goring 10k. Then it was the Reading Half Marathon for Robby (a PB of 1hr27mins) and the Bracknell Half Marathon for Vick - her first attempt at the distance. Robby ran his first full marathon on a scorching May 30 in Edinburgh, followed by his first 'Fell Race', the most southerly in Britain, 8.25 miles over the Charmouth cliff-tops, on July 4. Vicki followed that with an off-road 10k  on July 8. On July 26 Robby ran his first ultra-marathon – the 30-mile Downland Ultra over the South Downs in just under 5 hours.

On September 20, Robby ran a massive 56 miles, mostly cross-country, from Blackheath, London to the Brighton seafront. The race had no marshalls or signposts, just the occasional checkpoint, a mapbook and compass to keep runners on the right track. Only about half the runners finished and at mile 18 Robby developed an ilio-tibial band injury. He finished just within the 13 hour deadline, barely able to stand. Injury free, who knows what time he might post next year... If his wife lets him!

Now recovered, Robby is joining Vicki's brother - Beanie -for the Hell Down South trail run. Bring on the mud and the 'bog of doom'!

More events are likely to be added, but only if you keep sponsoring us! Any amount will do. But if you're ever in the neighbourhood of GOSH (it's near Russel Square in London) pop your head round the door. Then go home and double your donation.

Thank you! Robby, Vicki, Evie Rose and Tommy Frank
