Story
In October 2013, Vision Express turns 25!
Kicking off activities to celebrate this fantastic milestone we will be putting on lycra and getting on our bikes for our epic 176 mile charity bike ride from our first ever Vision Express Metro store in Tyne & Wear, to our home city of Nottingham.
The Childhood Eye Cancer Trust (CHECT) is the only UK charity dedicated to providing support to families affected by retinoblastoma (Rb). Providing support workers, advice and guidance to help families of babies and children get through diagnosis and treatment. CHECT also offers a lifeline to those facing challenges throughout their life as a result of their treatment and the condition. CHECT raises awareness of the signs of eye cancer to reduce delays in diagnosis and funds research into the condition.
A team of volunteer riders from Vision Express stores, support office and directors will be riding for 3 days in October from our first store in the Metro Centre, Gateshead to our support office base in Nottingham.
Heading up the ride will be four times Olympian cyclist Bryan Steel, riding on a tandem with Paralympic footballer Darren Harris, patron of The Childhood Eye Cancer Trust.
