Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

This year i set myself the challenge of running the Grand Union Canal race, a 145 mile (233 km) Ultra marathon, this non-stop race is from Gas Street Basin, Birmingham, along the way-marked Grand Union Canal Towpath to Little Venice, London. The Grand Union Canal Race is Britain's longest, toughest continuous running race.

The event is minimum support, and has no first aid or medical backup and has a 70 mile cut off of 19 hours and an overall time-limit of 45 hours. It is limited to about 100 starters in total and anyone stopping for more than 40 minutes at a time is deemed to have withdrawn.

I completed the event in 42 hours and 9 minuets, 91 people started and 46 dropped out, out the remaining 45 i came 32nd.

To help keep me going I decided to use the run to raise money for the charity  "Break"
- they have been helping vulnerable people in my local community for over 40 years - giving them a break to improve their lives, and break the cycle of despair.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

Please sponsor me, and many thanks for your support.

Vinnie
