VSO is an international development organisation that brings people together to share skills, build capabilities, and change lives to make the world a fairer place for all. Everyday, VSO volunteers are working to empower people living in some of the world’s most marginalised communities.

Story

Hello! I have now reached my target but if you haven't yet sponsored me and would like to contribute, please sponsor the lovely Sarah who will be accompanying me to Pakistan.

big love to all those who have sponsored me, I have now reached my target! Photographs of the walk can be found here and here

the cause: the wonderful people at VSO have agreed to send me to volunteer overseas for a year on their Youth for Development scheme.  I'm going to PAKISTAN on October 27th to work for an organisation called DOST that provides support for intravenous drug users and HIV/AIDS sufferers.

the event: my friend and fellow VSOer Sam and I completed a BLACK TIE sponsored walk from Arundel to Brighton (around 30 miles) on the weekend of 21st-22nd of July. It was a superb and but tiring weekend. We endured many injuries and funny looks from those we met along the way (probably jealousy at the dapperness of our dress code) all in the name of charidee!

Lots of love, Jo x
