The Star's Gift of Life Campaign is aiming to recruit at least 25,000 people in South Yorkshire and North Derbyshire to join the NHS Organ Donor Register.  The database holds the wishes of more than 15 million people who have decided they want to give others the chance of life after their death. 

The 31st Westfield Health British Transplant Games are taking place in Sheffield in August and as part of this campaign The Star has orgainsed a 5k Donor Run to raise awareness and to fundraise for the charity, Transplant Sport UK.

We want help to raise public awareness of the desperate lack of available organs, the plight of patients on the waiting list for a transplant and highlight the huge benefits of organ donation to those lucky enough to receive a second chance at life.
