3 big peaks + a boat loada coffee..
Fundraising for Cancer Research UK
Story
Hi,
We're having our second attempt at walking the National 3 peaks over the coming bank holiday weekend, and this time, we thought we'd try and raise some money for charity.
Basically, we're going to walk up the 3 highest mountains in the UK within 24 hours, that's Ben Nevis in Scotland, Scar Fell in the Lakes, and Snowden in Wales.
We're setting off up "Big" Ben Nevis around 6pm Saturday 23/05/09, and aiming to be back at the base of Snowden by 6pm Sunday 24/05/09.
The 2 charities we are raising money for are:
cancer research - one in three of us are affect directly or via friends and family with the news that you have some form of cancer. In recent years the chances of survival from many cancers has increased but there are still many forms of cancer that take lives every year. Our second charity is RNLI:
RNLI - WE live on a small island and even though we have one of Europe's biggest coastlines, the inshore water rescue emergency service and beach life guards are provided for purely through charitable donations. they receive no government money to provide this service and their selfless actions each year result in the saving of lives, both from ship rescues and from beach goers
