My mother, Denise Wood, lost her battle with cancer on the 24th October 2009. 

As of April 3rd this year I am setting off alone to backpack the entire South West Coast National Trail, which stretches 630 miles from Minehead in Somerset, to Poole Harbour in Dorset. Taking approximately 60/70 days, in doing so I hope to raise money for charity in memory of her.

CHOSEN CHARITY: Macmillan Cancer Support

Over the 2 years that my mother was diagnosed with cancer, the help and support that Macmillan nurses gave to her and my family was second to none, and therefore this charity is very close to my heart. The significance this charity can make to the quality of life of those who are diagnosed with cancer and the great support to their family members really is brilliant. I urge you to dig deep and donate now to a VERY worthy cause.
