Story
In July we're swimming from Dover to Calais through the busiest shipping lane in the world. No wetuits are allowed, so it will be cossie and swimhat (essentially swimming naked with jelly fish). We're a team of six. Five from Forward and Rob, CEO of War Child.
The crossing will be between 22 and 30 miles, dependant on the tides and currents, the water will be around 15 degrees and we're likely to be out for 15 + hours. We can all swim some sort of stroke, but we are by no means proficient swimmers! Comfort zone well and truly stepped outside of.
A bit anxious about the Jellyfish, prolongued seasickness, swimming in the dark etc etc. But, we are very determind.
We want to raise lots of money for War Child. So yes, we're unashamedly milking this (did we mention the jelly fish, and sewage?). They’re doing amazing work with kids and families affected by war in Syria, CAR, Congo and many other countries. This challenge is well worth a few unpleasant hours if It gives someone some sparkle in their future.

More people have climbed Everest and gone to outer space than have swam the Channel.
