In October 2012, six Canadian men who grew up on stories of slaying dragons and rescuing damsels in distress will face the biggest monster of them all: cancer.

During their 500-mile trip they will be walking in full medieval-style clothing and using period-appropriate gear to approximate a trip taken by a group of fantasy adventurers in the style of Dungeons and Dragons or Lord of the Rings.  They will start their trip in Belfast and end in Edinburgh, walking the whole way except for the short ferry ride from Larne to Troon.
