Story
Weil, Gotshal & Manges is sending forth four teams to complete the Three Peaks Challenge, beginning 19 September 2009. The challenge is vast and involves climbing the three highest mountains in the UK within 24 hours, including: Ben Nevis, Scafell Pike and Snowdon.
Whilst competing in the challenge, we are united in our target - raising as much money as possible for Richard House Children's Hospice. Richard House has been providing care and support for life-limited and life-threatened children and their families since the year 2000.
There is no charge for families for using Richard House's services, but the approximate running costs for 08/09 are £3 million, so they really need support. Many of the children at Richard House require 24 hour care. For the children and families who use Richard House, a day there means they can relax and enjoy precious time together. Here are examples of what your donation might help to fund:
£60 An outing for a child
£514 A day's care for a child at Richard House
£2,847 Funds a Respite and Palliative care nurse for one month
£10,794 Funds a Play and Care Worker for six months
The teams attempting this task (and raising money) include....
Team One: Thea Gaunt, Matthew Shankland, Pete van Keulen, Hannah Field, Andy Fox, Tony Denham (Support driver: Beverly Carr)
Team Two: David Elphinstone, Jessica Orrill, Lara Pender, Daniyal Stanton, Eleanore Hickman, Astrid Sandberg (Support drivers: Matt Clancy, Sam Smith)
Team Three: Tom Falkus, Catherine Gurney, Rupert Wall, Will Lewis, Ollie Walker (Support drivers: Cheryl Denton and Brian Maher)
