Story
Daisy Rothwell and I are about to set off on the adventure of a lifetime. We'll be cycling in the heat and at high altitude across Ethiopia from Addis Ababa to a maternity clinic in Gimbie (Western Ethiopia). We've set ourselves this challenge in order to raise money for Maternity Worldwide - a fantastic charity that seeks to reduce the number of women who die or are injured in childbirth in developing countries. Just to put this in perspective - each year, 585,000 women worldwide die in pregnancy. That’s one woman every minute. 99% of these deaths occur in developing countries. And in Ethiopia, that’s as many as 1 in 7 women.
My goal is to
raise £2000. If 100 people donate £20, I will
have reached my target. But there really is no limit.
Please be generous! It takes as little as £15 to ensure a safe child birth.
