We are the MS Society. We are strong enough to stop MS together.

Story

Welcome to the fundraising page for the Wildwood Whirly Girlies and Bald Blokes called Mike!

We will be taking part in the MS Society "Wheel & Walk" event in Windsor Great Park on Sat 5 June, when we will be walking 7K around Virginia Water in order to raise some money for the MS Society.

The Whirly Girlies took part in a similar sponsored walk in New York in 2004 and raised over $1000 for MS. So far we only have 6 on our new team, but we hope a few more of you will join us (boys too) so we can raise lots of money for a very worthwhile cause. Or, even if you aren't able to fundraise this time, you are very welcome to come along and walk your little arses off with us ... it will be fun as well as for a good cause Let us know and we'll send you the link to register (there is just a £10 charge which goes to the charity)

We will also have Zizou, the agrophobic NZ sheepdog/fruitloop, joining us for the walk - which will no doubt add a challenging aspect to what would otherwise just have been a walk in the park ...

Several of our family members have been affected by MS, so we have chosen to take part in this event to raise valuable funds for the MS Society and show our support, particularly for the local branch where Karen's mum, Rosie, is a volunteer support worker; Rosie spends much of her time assisting those affected by MS, as well as raising awareness and funds and she will be delighted to see others showing their support too.

Of course, if you are feeling lazy and can't join us on the day, we would be very grateful if you could show your support by donating some money - every little counts.

The MS Society relies on voluntary income to provide vital services to those affected by multiple sclerosis. Both nationally and locally, the MS Society is constantly striving to improve the lives of people with MS and their friends and family. The Society funds MS research, runs respite care centresprovides grants (financial assistance), education and training on MS. It produces numerous publications on MS and runs a freephone specialist Helpline.
