<p><em><strong><span style="color: #ff0000;">FUN RUN EVENT ~ HOLY CROSS HIGH SCHOOL, CHORLEY</span></strong></em></p>
<p><em><strong><span style="color: #ff0000;">SUNDAY 19th JUNE at 1pm</span></strong></em></p>
<p><span style="color: #666666; font-family: Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 10px; line-height: 14px;"><a href="http://www.derianhouse.co.uk/view-our-dvd.html">Derian House Childrens Hospice</a> offer a high standard of specialist care to more than 200 children with life threatening/life limiting illnesses. They also offer a reassuring framework of emotional support to the whole family. </span><span style="color: #666666; font-family: Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 10px; line-height: 14px;">Year on year the cost of providing the special care for the children of Derian House increases, and therefore more and more money needs to be raised. There is precious little help from central government for a children’s hospice such as Derian House, w</span><span style="color: #666666; font-family: Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 10px; line-height: 14px;">ith less than 10% of their funding coming from official sources. The reality</span><span style="color: #666666; font-family: Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 10px; line-height: 14px;"> is that the hospice is <strong>open 52 weeks a year</strong> and <strong>receive </strong>statutory <strong>funding for just nine of those weeks</strong>.</span></p>
<p><span style="color: #666666; font-family: Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 10px; line-height: 14px;">Since discovering this information <a href="http://www.whiteleykungfu.co.uk/newsite/">The Whiteley Kung Fu Institute</a> decided they would like to help raise some money and therefore chose to organise a sponsored Fun Run event for children and adults.</span></p>
