We believe in the power of sport to transform young lives.

Story

Never wanting to make life easy for myself, I have decided that this year I am going to combine my passion for running with general desire of making a fool of myself.  So this year I am going to be running the Marathon dressed as a giant Lucozade Sport bottle.

Surely running a marathon is a challenge enough - why make it more difficult?  The reason is simple.  I want to make a small difference to the standard of sport in our community and get more people active, so I will be running the Marathon dressed as a giant Lucozade Sport bottle to raise money for Access Sport.

I know first hand the opportunities that sport can provide young people and how it can enhance their lives.  With increasing concerns over the state of our nation's health and particularly young people, Access Sport's main aims are to address rising obesity levels and other health and social issues, such as juvenile delinquency, by engaging young people in active sporting programmes within their community.

So by running in a bottle, I hope to raise awareness of the Access Sport cause, whilst also raising some cash.  Maybe along the way I may also inspire others to take up a challenge themselves so they too get active.  If I do that, then it will make the gruelling 26.2 miles running in excessive and needless pain worthwhile.

Oh and did I mention, I will also be running Milton Keynes, Bath and Silverstone half marathons in the bottle - that is a total of 65.5 miles dressed as a bottle.  That is going to take a lot of fuel!
