Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.  Next April, I will be competing in the North Pole Marathon, the only certified marathon that is run entirely 'on' water, the frozen water of the Arctic Ocean in sub-zero temparatures reaching -40 degrees.   Visit www.npmarathon.com for info, stats and photos!

I've been training hard since 2008, competing in races and marathons throughout the year, and am now concentrating on learning to handle the extreme temperatures that I will be running in.  I'm also researching each and every piece of equipment I'll need and testing these as thoroughly as possible.  I recently completed the Polar Circle Marathon in Greenland to gain as much cold weather exposure as possible and was very pleased to finish 7th of 62 competitors from 12 countries.  So far my training seems to be paying off.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

So please dig deep and donate now.  Thank you!  Rik Vercoe
