Running the London Marathon has been a life-long goal of mine, and has taken several years to get to a position where I could take on the challenge. I am delighted to say that I completed the 2007 London Marathon in 5 hours and 27 minutes.  Slightly slower that I was anticipating, but with a record temperature of 23°c completing the course was my priority.

So having achieved my goal, and having said “never again”, I am attempting the 2008 London Marathon.  However this time I would like my efforts to support something that has affected both myself and many others.  My family have a history of heart disease.  My Father, Grandfather and Uncle have all died at an early age from heart related illnesses. Also my Aunt has suffered several heart attacks (but it takes more than that to keep a good woman down!).

Now through your generosity I would like to make a difference to the many thousands of people who are affected by heart related illnesses. Therefore I will be running on behalf of the British Heart Foundation as part of the Heart Runners Team. I hope to raise over £1000 to support BHF’s vital work and to raise money and awareness.
