Story
Thanks for visiting my fundraising page! XH558 is an ex RAF Vulcan bomber, who now belongs to the citizens of the UK. For many years during the 'cold war', the Vulcan was at the forefront of the UK's nuclear deterrent. A job she performed flawlessly at - after all, if she had failed, we may well not be here now.
A vast some of money has been spent restoring the aircraft back to an airwothy state, and now that this has been achieved, her tens of thousands of supporters are striving to keep her where she should be - back in the air.
XH558 represents British engineering, design and construction, at it's finest. Plus when you consider her first flight was 48 years ago, and that she is to date the only 'complex aircraft type' to have been restored and granted a permit to fly by the UK's CAA, you have to agree that she is a worthwhile cause.
I'm paying 100% of the associated costs of the skydive, and hope to have it video'd too. As some of you know, I did a couple of skydives in 2004, and unfortunately broke my leg in 2 places on my second jump - hopefully everything will go to plan this time around .
