We are running to raise money for ChildLine who are celebrating their 20th year in listening and helpng children.  They receive 4,500 calls a day and can only answer 57% of them.  In their 20th year they aim to raise £20m so that they can answer 80% of the calls they receive.  So help us, help them to keep their lines open.

We'll run, you give and ChildLine will keep listening. 

And who are we? 

Hi Tim here, this year Reuters has adopted Childline as a charity with a target of raising £100,000.  As a result Ray and I get the chance to run the London Marathon.  I haven’t run a Marathon before but ran the Windsor ½ Marathon a couple of years ago.  I started training at the beginning of December with Lottie the dog who gets dragged out at all hours to keep me company.  Target time? mmm… not sure at the moment, maybe 4 hrs?! Having 2 boys of my own and being involved in children’s work I’ve been touched by what I read about Childline’s work and the need to fund enough staff to answer 2000 calls from children that don’t get through every day.

And from me, Ray, I am now a surrogate employee of Reuters and I took all of 30 seconds to agree to partake when Tim asked.  I did a half marathon a couple of years ago but a marathon is the big daddy of them all.  My goaI is to finish in style, ie. still standing on my two feet with a smile on my face.  I too have children and am proud to be able to help ChildLine in this way.
