Story
...this event will challenge me to cycle 1216km over 9 days. Over 50 riders will bust a gut, get fitter and probably have a meltdown or two in order to raise money for Cancer Research UK. This is an incredibly worthwhile cause and something that will really push us all to our endurance limits.
The ride has been organised by a local fundraising committee in Hampshire called Inspired living UK. http://www.inspiredliving.org.uk/ .
It was set up in 2009 by a GP called Tim Frank, near where I grew up in Hampshire. This was a result of the death of Marey, his wife of 24 years, from breast cancer in 2009. Inspired living aims to do two things:
1. Inspire ordinary men & women to adopt healthier lifestyles in order to reduce their risk of contracting cancer. (I’ll have to do this in order to do the ride)
2. To raise £1 million for Cancer Research UK.
Any donation big or small will be much
appreciated. As a team we are hoping to raise over £50,000 in support of Cancer
Research UK.
