We help veterans and their families to live the life they deserve after service

Story

'Help for Heroes' is a charity that assists those who have been injured in the terrible war in Afghanistan.

We decided that we would do something specific to raise money for this very worthwhile cause and at the same time get ourselves fitter.

The British Gas sponsored 'one mile swim' was the answer, so here we are about to take on the challenge on the 21st of August at the Strathclyde Leisure Centre.

UPDATE: Strathclyde Loch swim was postponed due to high levels of dangerous algae, however we completed a mile swim at Strachan Loch on Saturday 21st August. We intend to still complete the mile swim at Strathclyde towards the end of September. (Now thats 2 miles!!!)

It has taken hours of misery in the swimming pool to get fit and hours of misery in the loch at Strachan to get used to the cold water and the waves.

It would be great if you would give generously to the future well-being of our servicemen and women wounded in war.
