WHATS THE CHALLENGE ?

The Three Peaks Challeng for those of you who are not familiar involves climbing the highest mountains in England, Scotland and Wales. These are Scafell Pike (978 Metres), Ben Nevis (1344 Metres) and Snowdon (1035 Metres) respectively.

There is no official format for the challenge except to ascend and descend all three mountains, and to include travelling between them, all within 24 hours.

WHY WE ARE DOING IT

The Three Peaks Challenge is being organised in order to raise money for Leukaemia Research.

This charity was chosen in memory of our very good friend Stuart Balfour who sadly passed away on 16th September 2007. Stuart was diagnosed with Leukaemia in October 2005, he bravely battled against this illness for the following 12 months before receiving a bone marrow transplant in December 2006.

Sadly due to an infection Stuart passed away in September 2007.

During his illness Stuart became an expert on Leukaemia and took a great interest in the research and development of treatments in various Blood Cancers, therefore after Stuart passed away his family were keen to support this event in aid of Leukaemia Research.

Stuart is greatly missed by all his friends and family and the Three Peaks Challenge is being organised in his memory.
