We pioneer life-saving cancer research to help us beat cancer

Story

Welcome to the fundraising page for our 3 peaks challenge. This involves us scaling the highest mountains in Scotland, England and Wales - Ben Nevis, Scafel Pike and Snowden all within 24 hours.

We are taking on this challenge to raise money for cancer recearch UK.

Most, if not all of the team have had cancer touch their lives in some way and we would all like to play a small part in contributing towards the search for a cure.

Our team consists of six people -

4 walkers - Mark Sidebottom, Nichola Sargeant, Jo McKechnie and Samantha Roberts with 2 support - Harold Bowden and John Roberts.

We are all friends and colleagues in our various workplaces and have known each other for many years so hopefully 24 hours together on such an extreme challenge shouldn't be too arduous!

We are aiming to complete the challenge on the 25th June 2010 and would like to invite anyone who wishes to support our cause by either giving us a donation or offering to support us in any other way you can.

Thanks for showing an interest in our challenge and we do hope you can help us meet our target of £2000 for this worthwhile cause.

Please visit us again soon when we hope to have some pictures of the team during our preparations on the local peaks of Derbyshire and will update you on our progress as we start getting fit - in the meantime we have some serious training to do!

Update - 1/6/10 - Thanks to everyone who has supported us so far we really appreciate it and we are getting closer to our target all the time! Training is going well and we are much fitter than when we started.

Special thanks to Alistair Wilkins and the team at Envisage in Stoke on Trent who have kindly donated the use of their crew bus for the challenge. - www.enviz.co.uk

Update - 7/7/10 - We completed the challenge! A few hiccups along the way with injuries - bad knees, bad toes and and a few blisters other than that we all got back in one piece! Thanks to everyone who has supported us so far and for all your kind donations. The webpage will remain open until September so you can continue to donate up to that date, thank you.
