We offer specialist medical care to people with serious illnesses

Story

Hello!

Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page everyone!

As you may of now gathered, we are running the London Marathon 2019 in the hope of raising £2K each for St Raphael's Hospice.

The amazing people at St Raphael's offer hospice care to people with life-limiting illnesses living in the boroughs of South-West London. The service is completely free of charge, and provides high quality medical and nursing interventions, as well as support to family and friends. The Hospice fully recognises and respects cultural, ethnic and religious differences and patients of all faiths or none, are welcome there. The multidisciplinary team do everything possible to relieve symptoms, sustain quality of life, support end of life care and care after death.

Abbey's Nan sadly passed away at St Raphael's in 2002, so this is her third (in a row) and final marathon, dedicated to her much loved Nanny Pat.

Ben (Abbey's overweight partner!) and John (a close friend) are running alongside her, as a team of three, and are hoping to combine their social lives, work lives and run events and fundraisers over the next 10 months to try and raise £6000.00 for this wonderful cause.

This will be a really difficult task for two of the three participants, both never running more than 10KM and well worth just a couple of pounds to watch them suffer the 26.3 mile course!

If you do have any spare change, we would be extremely grateful for your support of this extraordinary charity.

Thanks all, see you at the finish line.

Abbey, Ben & John
