Event: Asda Foundation Sheffield 10K 2019, on 22 September 2019
We provide support and services to help people with learning disabilities

Story

I have been asked for a 2nd year to help raise money for Sheffield Mencap (where my lovely selfless friend Kirsty works)  So a couple of weeks ago, the trainers were dug out and dusted off and training has commenced 😰 for the Sheffield 10K on 22 September. I would be grateful if you could sponsor me (even just £1 as it all adds up). Sheffield Mencap supports over 400 adults and children with learning disabilities every week. In 2018, they are the leading provider of training and support for adults with learning disabilities in Sheffield city. Their vision is that their members and their carers feel valued, included and respected. They achieve this by providing their  members with numerous opportunities to help them to reach their potential in life and by fostering independence, so they can live the life they choose.

About the charity

Sheffield Mencap is a local, independent charity formed in 1951. We support over 700 people every week through a range of services. Our vision is that all people with a learning disability and their carers in Sheffield are valued, included and respected so they can live fair, full and happy lives.
