Story
Just before my brothers 48th birthday in Sept 2020 Adam was diagnosed with terminal Pancreatic Cancer and a few weeks later, tragically Adam passed away, leaving behind him his lovely wife Marketa and children Tom and Emily. From his diagnosis to his death was all very quick and so shocking; made far worse by the awful Covid19 restrictions.
Since Adam's diagnosis we've all learnt so much about this horrid illness and a group of us have decided to raise money for Pancreatic Cancer Research Fund - because it is cruel, and the facts are truly shocking... we need to help find a way to improve people's chances of a better outcome.
- Pancreatic Cancer has the lowest survival rate of common cancers
- Only 5% of those diagnoses survive beyond 5 years
- The average survival time is 6 - 9 months
Despite these statistics, research into Pancreatic Cancer has been underfunded for decades.
