We provide mental health treatment to veterans from every service and conflict

Story

Hello Everyone

After spending 7 years in the Army I realise just how difficult life can be. I travelled around the UK and Europe and had the misfortune to be posted to serve in Afghanistan for 6 months alongside the Royal Marines. This opened my eyes and in particular... changed my outlook on life.

You see and experience things every day but nothing can prepare you both mentally and physically for what you face out there.

As everyone knows there have been many conflicts over the recent years, especially Iraq and now Afghanistan. I feel that it is our duty to recognise the efforts of the soldiers who have given every bit of effort, strength, and courage they can muster..and sometimes tragically even their lives.

Combat Stress is the leading service provider in the care of Veterans' mental health, they are able to deliver specialist, trauma-focused treatment and support to Ex-Service men and women whose problems are chronic, complex and long term.  They also provide help and advice to their families.

It is for this charity that I have decided to run this half marathon for. I intend to raise a minimum of £500 which all monies will be put towards helping the treatment and aftercare of soldiers who have been fighting in war torn areas.

I feel we have to do more as if it wasn't for these heroes fighting for us..we would not be where we are today.

So please show your support to our British Troops as they REALLY are..THE BEST!! :) :)

Many Thanks

Adam
