We harness the power of play to educate & empower disadvantaged children
Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page!
Our ADeptive All Star running team started with a simple email back in March recruiting runners and non-runners of all fitness levels to join a regular running club for our bid team. What began as a mainly team building activity quickly grew into active participation in a new sport for many and a much more healthy way of living for others. We now have a core team of reasonably fit and dedicated runners who are in training for this half-marathon event in October – you will find them every Wednesday morning at 06:30, knocking off another 5 miles before breakfast and work. For many in the team, this will be their first half-Marathon, for others, it is a step too far and a 10k entrance is being planned for later in the year.
The team really embraces the wider ADep team, multi-cultural, multi-gender a wide variety of ages and abilities and a great teaming between the Accenture and Atos Origin participants – all solely focussed on putting their best foot forward and getting the best result on the day. Many of us have changed fitness levels, weight, body-shape and outlook – hence our name – ADeptive.
We hope you will be able to sponsor us to raise funds for Right To Play, an international humanitarian organization that uses sport and play programs to improve health, develop life skills, and foster peace for children and communities in some of the most disadvantaged areas of the world.
