As many as you will already know, I have managed to secure a place for myself in the 2010 London Marathon. Whilst this has always been an ambition of mine, it is more importantly a fantastic opportunity to raise as much money as possible for a great cause.

Whilst many of the major charities are well represented on race day, Time and Talents have only a very limited number of places, and are even more reliant upon the funds raised on the day. Therefore whatever money you are able to donate will go further and have more of an impact than you may realise. Please give whatever you can manage, as it will be immensely appreciated; not least by me as I try and set a new course record.

Over the winter's training ahead I will be battling not only the elements but also a bad knee that is desperate to fall to pieces, but will be emboldened by your generous contributions.

For those of you who may be embarrassed by the enormous sum you wish to contribute and don't want to be identified, feel free to discuss this with me in private. I have pledged to raise well over £ 1000, so would sincerely appreciate all your help and generosity.

As many of you will know, the Marathon is a formidible undertaking, both in terms of the commitment to training and to fundraising. I need to raise a minimum of £ 1250, but I am confident that with your help, I can do even better.
