On the 6th of June I am taking  part in the 10K run for the Cancer Research UK to fundraise money to beat cancer. Raising £260 could buy a sophisticated microarray- a powerful piece of technology that scientists use to study genes and identify which are switched on in cancer; £2,979 could help to cover the cost of a patient taking part in a clinical trial to improve treatment of a type of head and neck cancer and £94 could cover the cost of one women taking part in clinical trial to test a new way of giving hormone therapy, to improve breast cancer treatment.
