Story

Thanks for visiting the Nnable justgiving page for Arthur's 65270 race.

Having abused various of my colleagues and friends for taking part in ridiculous challenges with no training, 'Northern Monkey', 'The Rocket' and 'Tory Boy' in particular, I promised myself that I would never, ever do the same thing....however a good friend of mine contacted me regarding this event, and I'll let him set out in his own words the reasons for the race, the title and what its all about:

On 19th June 2008, Beth Miller was born nearly eight weeks early at the James Paget University Hospital.  Beth's story is a happy one though, and a testament to the fantastic work of the neo-natal nurses - not only caring for Beth, but also guiding her parents through the very difficult weeks following her premature birth.

Sometimes, however, thank you is not enough.

The unit needs a Continuous Positive Airway Pressure (CPAP) machine, that costs around £7000.  To try and raise this money, Beth's favourite little mouse Arthur, has arranged an 'Adventure Race' that will replicate the journey that Beth's Daddy had to unexpectedly take from his workplace to the hospital.  Then he drove, now they will walk sixty five miles of the Suffolk Coast Path, over two days.  There will be teams of two, each member raising a minimum of seventy pounds - fifty in sponsorship and twenty for running the race.

Andy Albins and I will be undertaking this challenge on behalf of 'the nnable stable' and we hope that you will give generously to this worthwhile cause.

Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor us.  The James Paget University Hospitals Charitable Fund gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.

Please help us to save little lives, and sponsor Arthur's sixtyfivetwoseventy Adventure Race.  Whatever you can give, your donation will be much appreciated by Beth, her parents, and the parents of tomorrow.  Together, we can help the Nurses of the Neo-Natal Unit give their story a happy 'Beth' ending.
