Story

Why on earth are we attempting to run more than 160 miles across the Sahara desert in 6 days?

Thank you for visiting our page.

As you may be aware, on 31 March this year we will be travelling out to the Moroccan desert to take part in the Marathon des Sables, a 160+ mile, 6 day self-sufficiency running race across the Sahara desert.

We talked each other into this madness following the freak accident that our great friend James Gribble had whilst travelling in Africa back in November 2008. We are now hoping to raise as much money as possible for the Puffin Magic Foundation (supported by the Peter Alan Dickson Foundation's disaster fund), an Australian based trust that was established to assist James with the long road of rehabilitation.  If you haven't already done so please visit the Puffin Magic Foundation website for updates and information about James' story and progress to date (www.puffinmagic.org.au).

Alongside our commitment to James, we are also raising funds for a local childrens' charity, Facing Africa (www.facingafrica.org).

Thanks again for visiting this page, please dig deep and donate now.

Thanks very much

Rob and Al
